TMA1402: The zine/ Finished Product

TMA1402 Creative + innovation and entrepreneurship

The Zine

Our end product was a zine consisting of 86 pages, full of both artist submissions, whose work focused on their personal responses to the pandemic of 2020 and relating topics in which we had provided ourselves. The response we got to artist submissions was fantastic and is a project that could be sustainable going forward after the submission.

For my pages and contributions into the zine both mine, Kirsty’s and Tasha’s collaborations were involved. For my project in collaboration with Kirsty, i designed the page layout and also provided a walk trail destinations list around kirklees, which involved an activity for the readers to get involved with. The activity was a creative challenge in which they use the walk trails provided to create work. This way the reader can send in thier submissions to our instagram page,‘@isolatedminds’  promoting more readers to be submitted into our zine and increasing the sales, production and sustainability of our brand. The pages also give a mention to Queensgate Markets stall ‘Samuel Taylors Button Box’ which is where Kirsty sourced the fabric for our shoot from, helping to give that initial link back to the market and our response to create work from the market. (see work below)

As a whole i’m really happy with the way this project has turned out, i have confidently adapted to the challenges thrown at me with creating a concept the suits both my team and my own style of work. As well as been able to efficiently collaborate with my peers. I have learnt how to broaden my engagement with my target audience, as well as how to produce a brand identity and to consider all aspects of sustainability when planning for a future project.

If i was to change anything about this project it would be to possible engage more into the design aspect of the zine, as this is a skill i would like to learn for future collaborations and my own work. And i would of possible created a longer series of imagery. However, for the time scale we set ourselves of two weeks, to create and collect work, i am extremely proud of my team and look forward to continuing the brand.
